[SunRescue] Odd old cables

Scrounging around at work the other day I found two Sun cables that seem 
to be almost, but not quite, what I thought they were at first glance.

The first is a 530-1509-03 (rev 53 0843) which looked like a Sun monitor 
cable extension, but both ends are male.

The second cable is a 530-1443-02 (rev D 0843-9226) which looks like a 
keyboard extension cable, but again both ends are male.

Anyone know what these cables actually are and how they would be used?
