Seagate HD numbers are easy to decipher (they have a guide to this on their
web page, or at least used to):

Model number: ST31200WC

              ^ ^^   ^
              | ||   |
              | ||   +---- WC = Wide SCSI, SCA connector
              | |+-------- 1200 = unformatted capacity, in megabytes
              | +--------- 3 = primary form factor, in inches
              +----------- ST = Seagate Technologies

Anything with "WC" on it is wide scsi, SCA-interface.

As another example, the ST15150N:

ST = Seagate Technologies
1 = Dunno why they used 1 instead of "3" here (its an older drive, tho)
5150 = unformatted capacity, in megabytes (formats to 4.3gig)
N = Narrow SCSI

ST15150W:

Same thing as above, but Wide scsi

ST15150WC:

Same thing as above, with SCA inteface

Anything ending in "D" is differential, etc...
