I have to say this, but it might cause trouble, but you are all right,
and you are all wrong.

I have had several different kinds of hard drives (mostly IDE) and have
learned that they all are prone to failure, but it seems to go in
bunches.  I don't know why, but I can go months without any drive I
touch failing, but then I will get periods where it seems every machine
I touch the drive dies.  I don't know why this is, but it seems to be
regardless of brand.  All the companies you guys mention are fairly
large companies, (and even make drives for eachother)  and any company
of size will have good and bad warranty stories. I have decided that as
long as I buy from one of the reputable companies, I will ne OK usualy,
so I buy by spec more than brand.

On a side note, I have a small stack of drives I rescued from old PCs,
the brand is Dai Young, I am not making it up, I may have it spelled a
little wrong, but that's the name.  Talk about confidence inspiring!
