Thats a bit kludgy, but still better then nothing. Try to connect one
end of the foil to GND. (Make contact to the sheet metal of the enclosure.)

This will not help if the intererence hapens on the main board on the
way from the audio codec to the connector where the cable is pluged in.

I had a similar problem and solved it with an external USB audio box.
