Quick correction or two:
It uses DDR2 RAM, not DDR-400, and the RAM can be upgraded to 2GB
It has an Intel Celeron 420 CPU
It has TWO eSATA ports

Apparently FreeBSD 7 and OpenSolaris will run on it:

Ubuntu also seems to be an option but you have to install it on a SATA drive
