[geeks] Shedding a 10 foot stack of Dell PIII servers

I'm about to recycle an aproximate 10 foot tall stack of PIII servers,
but before I do, is there any reason to do things like pull the RAM,
CPU or HDs?

The systems were bought a surplus years ago and wound up occupying a
corner of my garage I haven't had a need fr until now. They are still
clean, and I suspect most are fully functional (I tested them upon
purcase, but not since). There is no fear of data loss if the HDs fell
into the wrong hands - I have no data on them.

I have seen scrap metal buyers that pay "top dollar" for things like
CPUs and RAM based on the minerals they can extract from them - is
this something I should consider a worth-while investment of my time?
I am selling off my scrap servers for 17 cents a pound, by taking the
RAM/CPUs out I can't imagine that will impact that "payday" (which
will likely cover gas plus lunch that day ;^).

If anyone potentially interested in parts from these machines, I'd be
happy to list the model numbers in the stack (all Dell), including
several FC-AL trays with small 9 gig drives (from memory) - just let
me know if you want me to post a list.
