yes, rather [and heartening to see], but i imagined a point-scoring
system similar to [for instance] auto racing.  1st choice gets 10 pts,
2nd gets 8, 3rd gets 6, 4th gets 5...  the spread could be linear or
on a curve.  the candidate with the most points wins.

i don't know if any system is quite like it; i think it'd be hard to
implement without computers.
