What hardware, and what distro/kernel?

Any problems I've had with networking on Linux have been with a
particular ethernet driver or sometimes the ethernet chipset. For
example, Intel E1000s in Dell 1850-era machines die under load and with
jumbo frames, and the BNX2 chipsets in HP DL380 G5s under recent RHEL4
kernels like to lock up a lot.
