Thanks.

The softphone has no options for tones, and the SIP box is maintained by
my service provider. I actually have the maintaince password for it,
but not knowing what to change or how, is not something I want to do
to a device my wife uses. :-)

The softphone maybe, but the real phone plugged into a PAP-2 analog
telephone adpator does.

That's quite likely.

I tried with the softphone and it could not connect. I sent an email to
my service provider and we'll see if they can do anything for me.

Tonight after everyone has gone to bed in the country, I'll try again
with the softphone (and the phones unplugged from the PAP2 to not wake
up anyone when google calls).

I used to have that problem calling a friend who lived in a residential
hotel (and had a PBX), but it usually worked if I called back later.

Geoff.
