Dr. Bob,

Please try to stay on-topic!

The original discussion is about changes in the movie/tv/entertainment
industry and compares the late-1960s/early 1970s time frame with the current
situation as it relates to technical correctness. The comparison was
between the orginal "Andromeda Strain" movie of 1971 and the current remake
of 2008. One of MC's first books, "The Andromeda Strain" (1969) is the
vehicle for the comparison; Michael Crichton, apart from being the author
and a scientist/MD, is not really pertinent to the discussion of how
ignorant the entertainment industry is of scientific methodology (that is,
troubleshooting).

The simplicity of your comments isn't the issue. (Gosh, you don't need a
terminal degree to talk intelligently with a Ph.D., do you?)
