I don't think IBM's even figured out that someone might want to plug SAS
into an AIX system (except by means of a Vary Large Expensive Box of
Disks And Storage Management Electronics) yet. pSeries and RS/6000 are
still an all-SCSI (or SSA on the big boxes or IDE on some of the RS/PC
boxes, but...yuck).
Rather, they've probably figured out that people would very much like to
do that, but they haven't figured out a way to permit such activity
while still making piles of cash.
Hrm. I could get a 43P-260 and run Linux on it (pretty sure that's a
supported TSM platform). I wonder how much the Linux suck-factor would
harsh the blue Kool-aid buzz.
