Goes to show where my prclivities lie. It wasn't until this year that I
learned Saint-Exupery wrote The Little Prince, but I've known for
probably thirty years that he flew with the Free French. (I first read
Brickhill, and Bader, and Pierre Closterman, when I was about 12. Mmm,
Hawker Tempests .... one of the fastest things in the air in WW2, for
about five minutes at a time, if you used the emergency throttle gate.
But then you had to throttle back to 2000rpm for 20 minutes to let the
engine cool down.)
