Verizon DSL is $29.95/mo (they seem to only have one tier for residential service anymore)...

Verizon DSL includes minimal dial-up access as well (in case DSL goes down, travel, etc.), AND free Wi-Fi in NYC...

I am a happy Verizon DSL subscriber for over 3 years now...
