The SYM229xx controllers are LVD - some are U2, some U160.

A good example is eBay # 5147135413.

The current stuff is the LSI2[012]320 controllers:

LSI20320: single channel U320 (int + ext connectors)
LSI21320: dual channel U320 (2x int + 1x ext connectors)
LSI22320: dual channel U320 (2x int + 2x ext connectors)

The LSI20320 can be had for $150 new, less on eBay (got one for $70 US a
couple weeks ago).

There are also -R variants that have what LSI calls "Integrated
Mirroring/Striping" - the U320 controllers all have ARM processors on
them and the -R variants use that for the RAID ops.
