Rumor has it that Clinton actually considered a nationwide gun roundup,
using the US Army to confiscate all privately-owned firearms.

Rumor also has it that the generals in the Pentagon advised him in the
strongest possible terms not to do it, warning him that if he tried it
he would almost certainly face an armed insurrection, and it was likely
that most of the Army wouldn't be on his side.
