Well, I'm not sure if it's a reason for learning Emacs but I find it a
lot more comfortable for writing code than vi. If it's a case of diving
into files in /etc or fixing a small bug or two I'll stick with vi, but
if I expect to be stuck coding for more than an hour I'll switch to
emacs (actually Xemacs).

Mind you, some people will say I'm sick liking both vi and emacs!
