Uhm, NetBSD has a really simple[0] installer for the base OS, compilers,
and X, and it has pkgsrc for everything else.  As long as your hardware
is supported, where's the challenge?

The biggest challenge I run into these days is netbooting IRIX from
anything other than an IRIX server.  IRIX has about the most back-asswards
installer I've ever used.  It's a good thing that the rest of the OS makes
up for it. ;)


[0] Partitioning a disk for a dual-boot situation can be "fun", but
    everything else is cake.
