I've got the demo running on my linux box.  It required me to
bump up my sound card (an old ISA SB awe32) to something more
modern.  It would play with the older one but the sound slowed
the game down to an unworkable frame rate.  It takes a decent
machine to play it, my U2W SCSI PIII 450 is barely workable. 
Graphic detail is much higher than UT.  In most other areas it
is very similar to the original.
