[geeks] New wish lists, OR Rebuilding the dream ;-)

Well the max on the O2 was the R12K at 300mhz, the O2+ got the r12k-a
400mhz version with 2mb. I havent used either though I'd assume the
400mhz larger cash version was faster.

I had an r10k and 2 r5k 02's and the 10k, even though it was clocked
about the same (195 vs 180), was significantly higher performing. I've
heard however that because of architecture differences the r5k was
better for video and sound work clock for clock, and that there were
some odd bugs with the r10k.

I'd be quite happy with the top r10k (250mhz?), but I'd love to have an
r12k machine, especially if I could get one with 2mb of cache.

There seem to be plenty of 300mhz r12k O2's out there for reasonable
cost, but I havent seen many O2+ machines on the market yet, and those
that I have were all overpriced.

When the r12k first became available I was given a "special upgrade
offer" from my r10k for $2500, plus they would recertify my machine for
extended warranty coverage. I Almost went for it, but decided it was too
much cash to blow on a machine I had paid $500 for.
