Has anyone here ever tried VRML2/VRML97?

Would it be fair to call the routes to/from various object attributes
and javascript pieces functional?

I think it is fair to say that such a programming method is a derivation
of functional programming, but I wanted an outside opinion before I
state that in an email to several PhDs on a topic I was asked to comment
on.
