[geeks] Why is everyone so OSX happy?

Under normal circumstances, i would but this occurred after
and only after an OSX update.... and it doesn't happen with
these same devices plugged into Linux or Win32 boxen.

Secondly, i am by no means the only one who
has dealt with this issue, including others with different USB
devices.  Of course, i know how to take steps to boot the
machine and get things up and running but i am not exactly
running for the opportunity to do so.
