Both.  There are a few other weird combinations, but grep->gr-ep is the 
one that annoys me the most.

Yeah, but the tips of my fingers are almost too thick for me to feel 
them, anyway.  It's an annoyance, but I have the feel of crap 
keyboards, and I'm willing to put up with it.
