i have very little knowledge with this type of stuff, but what about looking at
"jet boats"?  the use an impeller to shoot a jet of water out the back to push
them forward.  could maybe modify them to not use rotational force to drive the
impeller, but use the exhaust of your jet engine, also "recycling" the exhaust
as aditional power?  just a thought.  maybe a bad one, don't know.   ;)
