Performance of what? or of whom?

Pupils? Teachers in schools with bad catchment areas would therefore
be paid less for dealing with disruptive and or pupils who are as
thick as pigshit.

My dad is a Principal Teacher of Modern Languagaes at a school in
Scotland... (Notably, not the school I went to ;-)
