Here is a little help in that area, or at least if the main reason
that I am going to graduate with NO STUDENT LOANS! <Gloat>Ya I am so happy
about that, I know so many of my friends who are struggling under a mountain
of student debt. I actually feel better about that now, when they went to
college I went and partied, they had to go to work to pay of their school
debt and I partied, then I got a real job and went back to school. Now with
us all crossing thirty they are just paying of their debt and I make more
than them, will have a degree now and no debt. I think it was all for the
best.</gloat>

Oh the tip, Tax laws say that the government will credit you on you
taxes for any education you receive. Up to 3000 for the first two years and
1500 after that. The first part is 100% on what you spend then after that it
is 50% up to the maximums I mentioned. School for me came out to be about
1500 a semester so it was like buy one get one free (this of course did not
include books). You may want to speak to a professional about this, but it
is what I have done for the last 4 years.

Note this is a credit on your taxes which means it counts as if you
had paid that much on your taxes already, not a deductible that only returns
a percentage.

One of these days I simply need to finish my fricking BS. Too many
bills, not enough aid, and (mid to late 80's) plenty of SCO Xenix boxes
so badly needing a clue that even someone who otherwise had only done
Minix was overqualified... ;'p

Yeah minix. It ran on an XT with 640k and a 10 MB drive (long after that
was worth anything) ok? Actually I have good memories of it and what
Linus did as a result of it is a very "good thing" overall.
