Sounds suspiciously like it might be lpd then. Have you tried sticking
the 'sh' flag somewhere other than at the end of the last line ?

It looks like my old config files have been edited to cause the relevant
bit to disappear (I don't do printers anymore ... never liked the damm
things anyway). But telneting into one allows you to turn them off with
:-

	banner: 0

I suspect putting the same thing into the TFTP config file will also
work.
