[geeks] Am I getting too old or something.....

I was perfectly happy using my little windoze box that never crashed in the
4 years I had it (until I let James install a bunch of games and other
software on it that wouldn't run on his Sparc.) But then I move across the
country to live with this geek who tells me that my windoze box is a piece
of shit. I really don't want to lose what I have on there so I have him
install another drive with Linux Mandrake on it. The goddamned Linux drive
crashes every other day from some unknown bug that no one knows how to fix.
While windoze 98 runs peacefully on and does exactly what I want it to do.
No bizarre commands that make no sense.

I LIKE my happy pointy clicky world of PeeCee-dom. If I weren't being told
what a jerk I am for using it and being happy with it all would be fine in
this teeny little world of mine.

I mistakenly decided I wanted to learn UNIX because I thought it would be
better since that is what everyone says. Well, for me (yes, me, Amy, not the
rest of the world) it sucks and I don't like it.

I read the UNIX for dummies book and did not understand it but when I asked
questions I became further confused. I just cannot learn that way. Someone
offer me a course in Unix and I can learn it flash-bang quick. I don't do
well with books alone. As far as putting in the CD and just installing it.
I actually want to know what I am doing because I don't want to fuck it up.

Now, I am going to go back to chanting and praying that I do not go
completely looney tunes and kill James.
