[geeks] Has Sun Learned from SGI's Mistakes?

As seen on "the other place", a fresh Sun press release indicates that
they'll be shipping Linux/x86 boxen as "low-end" servers under the "Sun"
name (instead of just under the "Cobalt" brand). I hope they fare better
than SGI did when they attempted that.

I just have to ask: "Why?" They've -got- a kick-ass product line.
There's no need muck about with all that x86 crapola, especially when
the migration path they're giving for their customers involves a
platform/OS change.

ObsRant: The only time I've seen the colo do tours before lunch is when
I've been there -all- -night-, and I'm in front of a terminal looking like
a hermit strung-out on heroin. WTF!??? *waves to the people pointing and
asking questions*
