I know what you mean about DC - I moved here by choice because of the
cultural diversity, but all the news media seem to do is stereotype it
by geography (this quadrant of DC has this set of characteristicss, that
suburban county has that set).  Blech!

  Yeah, that's pretty scary.  You know better (or at least you SHOULD)
than to judge an entire city by a news item.  That sort of crap is
commonplace in the DC area, for example...and one of the biggest
reasons I left.  Of all the places I've lived, this is the only one
I've moved to purely by *choice*.
