I dunno if I've recommended this guy on this list before but you should read
John Brunner if you like the whole sci-fi/cyperpunk genre. He did early
cyberpunk-y/environmental novels in the 60s/70s.

Stand on Zanzibar

is one of my all time favourites and in terms of structure is still quite
innovative today. Some of his stuff can be a *little* over-preachy but Stand
on Zanzibar is astounding.
