If you can't sign on to an account with access to write in `/usr'
or `/usr/cygnus', use the `-installdir=directory' option
to Install to specify a different installation directory to which
you can write. For example, if all the other installation
defaults are right, you can execute something like `./Install
-tape=/dev/tape -installdir=mydir'. You'll need to either
override default paths for the pre-compiled tools, or else recompile the
software. See section Running the programs, and section Links for easy access and updating, for details.
WARNING: If you can't install in `/usr/cygnus' (or link your
installation directory to that name), some of the defaults configured
into the progressive-95q4 distribution won't work.
