[SunHELP] Need more disk space. What are my options?

I am very short of disk space and would like some sort of backup
strategy. Ideally it would be tape, but I can't afford a tape system.

I have a few Intel boxes but they are maxed out and I have no room to move
anything around. Is there any cheap way to add a SATA array that could be
connected to a Sun server?

I looked at the Seagate and WD external USB drives but mostly they seem to
be "compatible" with Windows and Mac (I don't have either) and I don't know
whether they need specific host software or it's just a marketing gimmic and
they would work with Solaris or Linux etc. I also don't know whether the
drives themselves are junk since they don't say much about the drives they
use in them.

Thanks.
