Hello,

I hope someone can shed some light on this, I have already searched the
archives and not found a definitive answer which has resolved my problem.

I am trying to jumpstart a V215, following exactly the same procedure as with
all previous builds although they have been V240, and V210.

After boot net - install I revive;

Rebooting with command: boot net - install
Boot device: /pci at 1e,600000/pci at 0/pci at 9/pci at 0/network at 4  File and args: -
install
100 Mbps FDX Link up
Requesting Internet Address for 0:14:4f:7a:53:3e
100 Mbps FDX Link up
boot: cannot open kernel/sparcv9/unix
Enter filename [kernel/sparcv9/unix]:

After reading several posts, I found that perhaps I needed to update the nfs
file, with

NFS_SERVER_VERSMAX=2

Instead of 4.

This did not help, N.B. I updated the nfs file on the boot path e.g.
/jumpstart/Sol8_02_02/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot/kernel/fs/sparcv9/nfs

I also tried adding rootopts=:proto=tcp,vers=2 to the /etc/bootparams file for
the new client to no avail, although something must of changed as the boot
haulted at
....
100 Mbps FDX Link up
Requesting Internet Address for 0:14:4f:7a:53:3e
100 Mbps FDX Link up

And went no further.

Ifconfig shows that the client has picked up its ip details as specified by
the jumpstart server, indicating that the RARP/ARP process is working, I could
subsequently ping between the two.

A snoop on the server reveals (below) after jumpstarting again;

(server: bohica, client: tcap25)

      tcap25 -> bohica       TFTP Ack  block 294

      bohica -> tcap25 NFS R LOOKUP2 No such file or directory

It looks as though its getting as far as bootparams, but cant see the files
that it wants on the mount point?

Any help in this would be gratefully received.
