All that is necessary is to make sure that there is a link from
/etc/rc3.d/<startname> to the /etc/init.d/samba

i.e.

/etc/rc.3/S51samba <---- ln -s to the shell script in /etc/init.d

Upon reboot, it will start automatically.

Subject: [SunHELP] init.d on Solaris 9

Hello all,

I'm running Solaris 9 and wanted to make sure Samba runs on
start-up. There's already an entry in /etc/init.d/samba which starts
the nmbd and smbd daemons. If it's already in init.d, do I need to
enable this , or will it automatically start-up upon system start-up?
 TIA,

                                          Chris
