[SunHELP] bash for root

Tue Mar 25 00:53:18 CST 2003

its not a good idea to have a dynamicly linked shell for root, as something
goes wrong and you cant use dynamiclinked shells thus you wont be able to
login as root.

as /sbin/sh is staticly linked

file /bin/bash
/bin/bash: ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC Version 1, dynamically linked,
stripped
file /sbin/sh
/sbin/sh: ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC Version 1, statically linked,
stripped

Subject: [SunHELP] bash for root

Is is alright for root to use bash. IF so, would I use /bin/bash? I am
mostly interested in the command finishing <tab> feature so what would my
alternative be?

thanks
