[SunHELP] Problems with sendmail and new Solaris 8 install

Fri Sep 6 14:53:14 CDT 2002

Hello gurus,

I've just completed a Solaris 8 install on a new V880 and I'm getting errors
from sendmail in my messages file:

Sep 6 15:55:08 eck sendmail[211]: [ID 801593 mail.crit] NOQUEUE:
SYSERR(root): /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 77: fil
eclass: cannot open '/etc/mail/local-host-names': Group writable directory
Sep 6 15:55:08 eck sendmail[211]: [ID 801593 mail.crit] NOQUEUE:
SYSERR(root): /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 492: fi
leclass: cannot open '/etc/mail/trusted-users': Group writable directory

'eck' is the name of my server.

I checked another server we had loaded Solaris 8 on and the directory
permissions and ownership for /etc/mail are exactly the same. This is kind
of confusing because I don't know squat about sendmail.

Anyone ever run into this type of problem?

Thanks.
