[SunHELP] Solaris + MySQL + NFS Problems

I'm running the latest binary version of MySQL on a Solaris machine. My NFS
server is Linux running the 2.4.19 kernel. I can mount the NFS shares and
read/write to them from my Solaris box. I can start MySQL without incident
with the data dirs sitting in the NFS mount (MySQL even writes to the logs
on the NFS mount), but when I try to connect to the database it hangs. It
sits there ... doesn't even time out. PHP connections from my web nodes do
the same (which is odd since PHP is supposed to, by default, barf after 30
seconds).

I know this should work, but I'm clueless as to why it might not be working.
Any ideas out there? I'd mail this to the mysql list, but for some reason
it's not propagating into the list from my email account ...

Thanks!
