I cannot use any command in single user mode also. I want to replace the /usr partition, probably re-install from cdrom if possible?

Would booting single-user off a CD-ROM get you to
where you want to be? THen you would mount the /usr
partition and apply Unix Guru VooDoo ;^)

Are you hoping to fix your /usr partition or replace
it?

Hope this helps,

Lionel
