does this work in solaris? i was actually going to write about this the
other day, because i was trying to set 'MAILTO' in root's crontab (not
to /dev/null of course) and got the following error (from crontab -e)

crontab: error on previous line; unexpected character found in line.
crontab: errors detected in input, no crontab file generated.

there's no mention of this environment variable in the crontab (1) man
page (or in the cron (1m) page either)

is there another way to do this easily?
