The IIi (integrated) has an on-board PCI controller, and memory controller.
The IIe (embedded) is similar to the i but is geared toward low power, and
lower performance implementations. Depending on your application the two
product lines may or may not overlap.

>From Sun's web site:

The UltraSPARC family includes three different series of chips:

The E series provides a balance of cost, power consumption
and performance to
produce the perfect chip for individual workstation
applications, rack-mount servers in
the network, high-performance embedded applications such
as data communication
firewalls and security, storage area network control, and
telecommunication network
                  control.

The I series delivers optimized performance with a balance
of cost and power and is
intended for high-performance workstations and mid-range
server applications.

The S series offers the highest level of system
performance in multi-processing server applications.
