[SunHELP] Problem with a modem port hang

I am using kermit over port /dev/cua/b on an UltraSparc 5 for Alphanumeric
paging.

The problem is that the port will often hang and I can't recover without a
reboot.

Occasionally the port will hang and release when I power cycle the modem but
not always.

The last entry in my modem log is always "NO CARRIER".  I always start and
complete my scripts with a hangup.

Any and all help much appreciated.
