Hi,

just to warn you:

I've bought four AEC-7720UW IDE-SCSI bridges to use cheap IDE disks in
a Sparc machine - an UltraAXe, where the onboard IDE ports seem to do
only PIO4.

The configuration is like this:

Mainboard: Sun UltraAXe ATX mainboard
OS: Sun Solaris 8 10/2000 with Maintenance Update 6
SCSI controller: Sun/Symbios 22801 dual channel controller with
SYM53C876 chip.

Hard disks:
Each channel has for disks:
ID 0: SUN 9.0G (IBM DNES 9Gig drive with SCA-UW adapter)
ID 1: IBM-DCAS-32160W (UW, 68 pin connector)
ID 2: Western Digital WDC WD1200BB-22CAA0 120GB IDE disk
        with IDE-UWSCSI bridge
ID 3: Western Digital WDC WD1200BB-00CAA1 120GB IDE disk
        with IDE-UWSCSI bridge

When booting the system I always get the following error messages
complaining that the scsi device (i.e. the IDE-SCSI bridge) sent too
much data. The system does not give errors for the real/native SCSI
disks.

I've asked the manufacturer for help but got no answer yet.
