[SunHELP] problem setting PATH under solaris 8

Here's how I add path statements to .profile...

PATH=$PATH:/usr/ucb
PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin
PATH=$PATH:/usr/sbin
PATH=$PATH:/usr/ccs/bin
PATH=$PATH:/opt/sfw/bin
export PATH

Is it possible you aren't exporting PATH?
