[SunHELP] make command

thanks all for help
i add /usr/ccs/bin directory with following command:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/ccs/bin:.:
export PATH
now i want to compile my source code for midnight
commander with following command:
make -f /mc/Makefile
and it respond with following error:
cc -c -I..  -Dinline= -I./../vfs -I./.. -I./../slang
-I.. -DBINDIR=\""/usr/local/bin/"\"
-DLIBDIR=\""/usr/local/lib/mc/"\"
-DICONDIR=\""/usr/local/lib/mc/icons/"\" 
-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -g local.c
/usr/ucb/cc:  language optional software package not
installed
*** Error code 1
*** Error code 1
what is this?
in the source directory i have configure file.
with ./configure some scripts executes
but nothing happend.
how can i install midnight commander or any other 
source code on my solaris 8.
