[SunHELP] Performance issue.

I usually find that telnet being really slow is DNS related. The machine
you're telneting to might be trying to do a reverse lookup on the address
you appear to be coming from. Once that's timed out it allows you to login.

If you can, stick a temporary entry for the host you're coming from in the
hosts file on the other box and see if that sorts it out. If it does check
the DNS setup.
