[SunHELP] Performance issue.

If the question is about the HP machine then it really belongs on the
hpux-admin list at dutchworks.nl

The uptime stats look ok. Start by checking /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log for
error messages. Next look at
freespace in your filesystems using bdf. I'd also be inclined to check the
status of your DNS server if you have one. There are cases where DNS
failures can cause long telnet or X-windows login times.
You can also use top, vmstat, ps and glance if you have it to examine your
system.

Happy hunting.

Joe

Hello everyone,

It takes me about 20 minutes to telnet into a HP machine. It seems to me
that the machine run out of resource. Can anyone give any clues about how to
investigate it? What command to run?

When I run uptime, it looks like:
10:23am up 33 days, 14:28, 15 users, load average: 0.22, 0.17, 0.21

Is it normal?

Thanks a lot!

Andrew
