Hello Administrators,

We have RADI 1 (mirror) set up by DiskSuite on the boot disk. There is a
hardware error on the alternate disk and Metastat shows :

d2: Submirror of d0
    State: Needs maintenance
    Invoke: metareplace d0 c0t1d0s0 <new device>

Metadb -i :
       flags first blk block count
     a m p luo 16 1034 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3
     a p luo 1050 1034 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3
     a p luo 2084 1034 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3
      W p l 16 1034 /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s3
      W p l 1050 1034 /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s3
      W p l 2084 1034 /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s3

There are only 2 slices and the other slice (swap partition) is fine.

Before replacing the problem hard disk which requires a reboot (as these
are internal disks) do you need to break the mirror first ? Or, just shut
down the system, replace the hard disk, boot, partition and recreate the
metadb on the new drive and synchronise the mirror ?

Much appreciated.

Yingha.
