Hi Stefan

It looks like you did not do a boot -r at the ok prompt. This will
reconfigure your system to add the new disk which is needed before you can
access it via format. All should be ok then.

Subject: [SunHELP] format a disk

Hi, I want to add a new external scsi disk with id 2 to my
sparc-solaris-2.5.1. while booting the machine I get a

WARNING /sbus at 1,f8000000/esp at 0,800000/sd at 2,0 (sd2):
corrupt label - wrong magic number

and later after booting format doesn't give me that disk as an option for
disklabeling and formating. there is even no entry in /dev and /dev/[r]dsk
available.

the warning implies that the disk gets recoginzed. of course, there is no
disklabel so I want to add one!

what am I doing wrong?

- Stefan
