[SunHELP] sendmail question

Greetings admins:

I am testing my new sendmail server, and notice the following problem. If I
setup a new unix account, and send a test message to that account, the
permissions of the /var/mail/user file are not that of the account I just
created. For example, if I send mail from an outside account to the user
account I just created, (and if the /var/mail/user file does not already
exist), the /var/mail/user file is created with an owner of daemon, and
group ownership is mail (mod 660).

Shouldn't these files be created with ownership set to the unix account
name? Any suggestions on what to check would be appreciated.

FYI, I am running Solaris 8, sendmail 8.11.3, latest patches, and using NIS.

Thanks!
