/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 means...
controller 0
target 0
disk 0
slice 0

the next partition on the same drive would be c0t0d0s1 and the first
partition on the second disk would be c0t0d1s0.

c0t0d0s0 is usually your first partition.  however, if you're trying to do
something with msdos under solaris, you're  going to need more help than
just naming conventions.

i am confused with the naming solaris gives to harddrive/partitions
